Wife of Rev. Allison MacLean, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton. She was born in Charlottetown, PEI, the eldest daughter of the late Joseph Henry Taylor, and the late Rosella May Maher. Besides Allison, her husband of 58 years, she is survived by her daughter, Anne MacLean; and her son, Bruce (Patti Easton) MacLean; their three children Janelle, Heidi and Joey; sisters, Sylvia Matheson (Donald) and Sandra Richardson (Mark); sisters-in-law, Velma Taylor and Eileen Heffel Taylor; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her two brothers, Ian Willis Taylor and Joseph Donne Taylor; sister in-law, Gloria Taylor. Daphne was a graduate of Prince of Wales College and St. Dunstan’s University and taught at Charlottetown Rural High School before her marriage to Allison. She was with him in ministry for many years, beginning in Saskatchewan and continuing in the three Maritime Provinces. Daphne’s family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at the DECRH for their compassionate care of her during the past five months. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Friday, September 29, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will take place in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, September 30 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Everyone is welcome to join the family for a Graveside service on Monday October 2, in People’s Cemetery, Charlottetown PEI, officiated by Rev. Kent Compton.
