1928-2023. Peacefully, at Andrews of Stratford, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, of Ernie Macdonald of Charlottetown, formerly of Cardigan, age 95 years. Beloved husband of Marie Macdonald, who passed away peacefully just 41 days earlier. Loving father of Jean Marie McKearney (Frank), Stephen (Trish Bradley), Greg (Lisa Frizzell), Mary Ellen MacLeod (Trevor) and Joanne Marie (deceased at birth.) Proud grandfather (Grampy) to Eric, David, Joanna, Stephanie, Luke, Duncan, Seth, Maya; and great-grandfather to Ella and Mae. Also lovingly remembered by sister-in-law, Cathy Macdonald of Windsor, ON and many nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Irene (Lewis) Macdonald; and his siblings, Ronan (Mary), Jean, Kent (Mary), John S. (Bernadette), Fr. Clare, Fr Andrew and Frank. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Andrews of Stratford for their kind and compassionate care of Ernie during his time in Stratford. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Parish, Cardigan, PE, on Tuesday, October 3, until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
