D. Edwin PETERSON — Charlottetown

It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of D. “Edwin” Peterson of Charlottetown, PEI, age 65. Edwin died peacefully on October 1, 2023, with his wife by his side, in his hotel room in Toronto. As a lifelong Blue Jays fan, he died on his last day of fulfilling his bucket list dream of attending a Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre. He saw two games with his friends and family and was so happy that they made the playoffs. He was predeceased by his parents, Dawson and Barbara Peterson and his older half-sister, Gladys Codlin (Ontario). Edwin is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Lois (McDonald) Peterson; and his two stepchildren, Justin d’Eon (Monette McCue), Halifax, and Rebecca d’Eon, Charlottetown. Edwin is also survived by his sister, Rosemary (Jim) Gairns, Fredericton, NB. He will be missed by his sister-in-law, Barbara McKenna; brothers-in-law, Ken (Sandra) McDonald, Floyd McDonald, Paul (Robyn) McDonald, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life will be held in the Belvedere Funeral Home Reception Centre on Thursday, October 12, from 4-6 p.m. Donations in Edwin’s memory may be made to the PEI Humane Society.
