The death occurred at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, October 9, 2023, of John "Melvin" MacKay of Alberton aged 89, beloved husband of the late Shirley (Adams) MacKay. Melvin was born in Coleman on May 4, 1934, son of the late Colin and Mabel (Baglole) MacKay. Cherished dad to Garth (Liane) and grampy to Colin. Dear brother to Gladys Betts, Jimmy MacKay and Lloyd MacKay. Brother-in-law to Myra Adams. Melvin was predeceased by his parents; brother, Harvey; sisters, Mildred Balcolm and Florence Oakes. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel O’Leary with visiting hours on Thursday 6-8p.m. Funeral on Friday at Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene at 11a.m. Interment to follow in the Elmsdale United Church Cemetery.
