The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 of Marguerite Anne Quilty (Duffy) of Cumberland age 89 years. Beloved wife of the late William "Billy" Quilty and dear mother of Ruthie Murphy (Rob), Patrick (Ruth), John, Ronnie (deceased), Rick, Walter (Pam) and Lori. Loving and proud Grammy to Amanda, Sean, Tia (Chad), Brielle (Jordan), Aleya (Eddy), Hannah, Hailey, Hillary, Lauren, Liam and Great-Grammy to Jeter, Calia, Dominic, Deacon and Amelise. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Inez and Viola Duffy, Lillian Quilty and many nieces and nephews. Marguerite was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Frederick and Mary "Minnie" (Smith) Duffy, and her siblings, Mary Shea (Joe), Joe, Jim, Susan McGuirk (Gerald), Rita, John "Jack", Charlie (Lillian) and brother-in-law John Quilty. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home where visiting took place on Friday, October 6th from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 7th with funeral mass from St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Francis of Assisi St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, Cumberland.
