The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, of Lorraine Gallant (Gallant), beloved wife of Tilmon Gallant, of Charlottetown and formerly of Rustico, aged 82. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Danielle Gallant. She is also survived by her siblings, Helen MacInnis, Marie Burchell, George (deceased), Marina Murphy, Olive Gauthier, Alyre Gallant (Marthe Duprée), Frances Gillan, Lorna St. Jules (Maurice), John Gallant (Ferne), Audrey Jamieson and Charles Gallant (Carol Ann); sister-in-law, Marie Gallant; and many well-loved nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Amos and Edna (Buote) Gallant; infant brother, Richard; brothers-in-law, Charlie MacInnis, Bill Murphy, Alfred Gauthier, Basil “Gil” Gillan, “Howie” Jamieson and Peter Gallant; and sister-in-law, Fanny Gallant. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. There will be no visitation by personal request. The funeral will be held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
