It is with sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Walter Watson, who died October 22, 2023, in Ridgewood Veteran’s Hospital in Saint John, NB at the age of 92. Vernon was born in Kensington PEI to Joseph and Myrtle (Mac Dougall) Watson. He was one of 16 children of his parents. He is predeceased by siblings, Margaret and Ronnie who died as babies, Leonard, Helen, Bernice, Arthur, Eric, Charlie, George, Francis, Elaine, Kenneth, and May; both his parents; and by his son, Mark. He leaves behind his children; grandchildren; and his partner, Joan Kerr of NB; and his sisters, Janet and Patricia both of Ontario; and many nieces and nephews. Vern fought in the Korean War and following his release from the military, he became a mechanic in Ontario for Chrysler; a career that spanned many years. When time permitted, he loved nothing more than to go fishing or go for a long, scenic drive. Joan would like to thank Extra-Mural for all the help and support they have given to Vern; it was much appreciated. We would also like to thank Nancy Forgrave for all her help, in her role as our home care support worker, we so appreciate your help and care. Cremation has take place through Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex, NB.
