Wendell PAYNTER — Souris

It is with heavy hearts and sadness, the family of Wendell Paynter announce his passing which occurred with his loving daughters and Betty by his side at the Colville Manor, Souris, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Born on October 26, 1933, he was in his 90th year of Souris and formerly Kensington, PE. He will be forever loved by his cherished daughters, Wendy Paynter, Tracy Jackman (Michael), Shelley O’Connor (Kevin) and fondly remembered by their mother, Betty Paynter. Wendell was a fun-loving grampy to Kassidy (Colton), Summer (Jack), Zachary, and Lindsay. He is survived by his siblings, Shirley Ferguson (Jack), Junior (Mary), Marilyn Prescott (Bill), Thelma and Carolyn Paynter (Blair); along with his sister-in-law, Susan Paynter. In addition, he is survived by cousins from the Fillmore family, along with numerous nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Ruby Battersby (Tom); father, Roland Paynter, and brother, Rick. The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care given to their father during his time at the Colville Manor. The care and kindness shown to him by Dr. Malone and the entire nursing team will always be remembered. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Monday, October 16, from 5-7 p.m. A legion prayer service will be held following the visitation at 7 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend. An Anglican Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Souris on Tuesday, October 17, at 1 p.m., with interment to follow in the St. Alban’s Church Cemetery.
