Beloved husband of Mildred “Millie” (MacLeod) of 66 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Beach Grove Home. Born in Flat River, PE, on September 15, 1935, he was a son of the late Alexander and Verlie Emma (MacMillan) Compton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Clarice Ellis, Donna Testini and William "Bill" Compton. He is survived by his children, Joanne Carmichael (Dennis), Beverley Campbell (Elmer), Jayne Gallant (Steve), Kathleen Compton (Jerry Dorie), and Janet Compton; cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Mathew, Eric, Donald, Darcy, Cole and Daniel; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Velda Ward, Lemuel Compton (Nicky), and Damon Compton (Rose); several nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Harbour Unit of Beach Grove Home for their care and support shown to Charlie (Dad) and family over the last three years. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9 from 4-7 p.m. His funeral service will be held at Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 10, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. John’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery at a later date.
