(1954-2023) The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Thursday, November 22, 2023, of Laura Mary Gavin, formerly of Tignish, age 69 years. Born on October 23, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Howlan J. and Mary Dora (Harper) Gavin-Shea. Dear sister to Ethel (Eddie) McHugh, of Norway, Stella Ford, of Calgary, Freda (Gary) Wilson, of Inverness, Theresa (Leo) Shea, of Stratford, Ronnie (Kathy) Gavin, of Saint John, NB, Darlene Shea (Derrick Blacquiere), of Bedeque, Debbie (Greg) Keefe, of New Haven, Lloyd (Cora) Shea, of Sea Cow Pond, and Earl Shea, of Summerside. Laura is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Buddy, and Richard; and her stepfather, Lloyd Shea. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
