August 28, 1924 ~ November 8, 2023 It is with sadness in our hearts, that we, the family of Sophie Marie Richard (née Arsenault) of Le Chez Nous, Wellington, and formerly of Mont-Carmel, announce her passing at the O'Leary Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the age of 99 years. Sophie was the beloved wife of the late Nazaire Richard and cherished daughter of the late François (Frank F.) and Hortense Arsenault of Urbainville. Sophie is survived by her loving children: Melvin (Monique), Zelma (Rhéal), Gérard (Jeannette), Eric, André (Diane); and by grandchildren: Michel (Crystal), Carole (Mike), Marc-André (Sarah), Pierre-François (Marie), Samuel (Tom); and by great-grandchildren: Trent (Zoe), Flavie, Xavier and Jaxson. She will forever be remembered by her brother, André Arsenault (Bibianne Cabana - deceased) and by her sister, Sr. Zita Arsenault C.S.C; by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Léo and Eva Richard and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Cyrus (Thérèse), Léo (in-infancy); by brothers and sisters-in-law: Alfred, Austin, Albin (Marie) Thérèse (Adrien), Father Emmanuel, Mélina (1st Ernest and 2nd Vernie) and Adelard (Aline). Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville for visiting hours on Monday, November 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on the afternoon of the funeral from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church in Mont-Carmel on Tuesday, November 14, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Donations in Sophie's memory made to Le Chez-Nous or to the Mont-Carmel Parish Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
