Valerie M. LEE — Moncton, NB

Age 66, of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at Albert House Hospice on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Born in O’Leary, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Doris (MacWilliam) Dennis. Valerie was a graduate of Dalhousie University, obtaining a Bachelor of Nursing Degree, and later on obtaining a Masters Degree in Nursing. She retired after careers in public health and family therapy. She was an alumna of the Sorim Tai Chi Academy. And founded the MLCC seniors Tai Chi program. She was a member of Shediac Bay Yacht Club and a lifetime member of the Shediac Power and Sail Squadron. Valerie was a musician who played fiddle with Burning Bush and other musical groups to help with fundraising and providing entertainment to nursing homes and community groups. In her spare time she was an avid back yard gardener. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Gerald Lee; sister, Olga Gibb (Bruce); sister-in-law, Bev Dennis; brothers-in-law, Marcus Lee (Marla), Richard Lee (Elaine), Bayliss Lee (Debbie), Peter Lee and Rees Lee (Lynn); nieces and nephews, Glen Dennis (Wendy), Troy Dennis (Jan), Valerie Gibb, Bruce Gibb, Megan Lee, Stephen Lee, Virginia Lee (Derek), Matthew Lee (Ashley), Jonathan Lee and Catherine Lee; numerous grand nieces and nephews; and many colleagues, friends and extended family. In addition to her parents, Valerie was predeceased by her daughter, Rebecca Lee (1996) and brother, John Dennis (2020). Visitation was held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995). A Service to Celebrate and Honour Valerie’s life was held November 6th, at 1:30 p.m. in the Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel. Reception followed in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, PEI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Valerie’s memory can be made to Friends of the Moncton Hospital, CHU Dumont Foundation, Hospice SENB (Albert House) or Able Sail.
