1938 - 2023. Peacefully with her family at her side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, November 27, 2023 of Mercedes Peters, Oyster Bed Bridge, age 85 years. Beloved wife and friend of over 63 years to Frank. Loving mother to Jacinta (Mike Gauthier), Karen (Trent Roach), Tim (Jane Evans), Marcia (Calvin MacPhail). Loving sister to Sid, Cammy and Mary. Predeceased by her son Steve and by her parents Alvin and Marcella Vessey, and her brother Joe and sister Ida. Mercedes is also lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Grammie was adored and loved by her grandchildren (Emily, Katelyn, Laura, Tyler, Jack, Grace, Sarah, Abby, Ryan, Kate, Hugh, Lola, Eric, Maggie and Estelle) and by her great-grandchildren (Madisynne, Jackson, Hunter, Carson, Michael, Teagan, Elizabeth and Darcy) and will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home for visiting hours on Friday evening, December 8th from 6-9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning, December 9th with funeral mass from St. Augustine's Church, South Rustico, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine's Parish Cemetery.
