It is with heavy hearts and an appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Preston MacDonald of Charlottetown announces his passing at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 98 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean MacDonald (Hume); his parents, Allan and Margaret MacDonald (MacPherson); his sons, John and Kenny; as well as his brothers and sisters. Preston is survived by his wife, Mary Alice; his children, Earle, David (Heather), and Robert (Karyn); his stepchildren, Dean (Tara), Rhonda (Susan), Tara (Scott), and Darren (Becca). He was a loving Grampy and Poppy to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews and his special friends Marie Weatherbie and Myrna Gallant. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21st from 10 – 11 a.m. Funeral will take place at the funeral home chapel on December 21st at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral in People’s Cemetery. All are then invited to Belvedere Funeral Home Reception Centre for a time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers, donations in Preston’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Lennon House.
