Venilda “Schiney” MacFARLANE — Morell

Venilda “Schiney” MacFARLANE — Morell

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Venilda “Schiney” MacFarlane of Morell aged 67. Survived by her husband Rick; her children Vanessa, and Ricky (Amanda); her grandchildren, MacKenzie, Jack, Harrison and Thomas. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Loretta (Wayne), and Gerry (Gloria), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John and Evelyn; and her siblings, Teresa (Chester), Bernice (Donald), Louise, Christine and St. Clair. Schiney was very nurturing by nature. She spent most of her career in the Home Care field working privately and as an RCW. Naturally her daughter and granddaughter would also make their way into the industry of caring for others which made her heart full. Her compassionate ways went beyond that; over the years her and her husband Rick, who she also carried through many personal battles, opened their doors to countless others down on their luck and would treat them to a warm meal including her famous chili, keeping a roof over their head until they could get back on their feet. She absolutely adored her children and grandchildren and could often be found at the baseball field or hockey rink cheering for her grandson Jack, even in her final days she proudly watched him on the ice. If she had something to say she would say it, unless she thought it would be a burden on someone, then she would just say she was fine and there was no changing her mind once it was made up. She loved her bingo, visits from friends and family, a game of cards, country music and over the years she could always hold her own against her son and nephews in a game of hallway hockey. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell for visitation on Thursday, December 14, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held on Friday, December 15, at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell at 10 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
