Age 78, of Hamilton, ON, formerly of Charlottetown, sadly left us peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Anne Marie Wilson of Morell. In addition to being a loving father and husband Walter was an avid car enthusiast and worked at Ford Motor Company for 35 years until his retirement. Walter was also passionate about playing hockey, country music, serving in the PEI Signal Corps and sharing a laugh with his friends and family. Walter is survived by his daughter Maureen (Mike) McDonald, son Walter “Wally” MacGillivray, and siblings James MacGillivray (Marion MacDonald), Evelynn (Frankie) Chow, Mary (Jim) Doyle, David MacGillivray (Cheryl Phalen), Johnny MacGillivray (Marie LeFort), Ronny MacGillivray and Brenda (Joe) Christianson. Walter is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Alexander MacGillivray and Stella MacCormack, brothers Grant MacGillivray, Charlie MacGillivray (Anita MacDonald) and Melvin MacGillivray. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home.
