Peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, the passing of Carol Marie Smith, 84, most recently of Belfast, PE, occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, PE. Born in Lyndale, PE, on November 13, 1939, Carol was one of five children born to the late Hersey and Esther (Campbell) Carver. The loving and devoted wife of the late Clair Roy Smith, originally of Bloomfield, PE, Carol is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Smith) Martell (Tim), of Princeton, NJ, and cherished grandson, Keegan Martell, of Victoria, BC. Carol is also survived by brothers-in-law, Vance Smith (Teresa) and Barry Smith (Judy); sisters-in-law, Glenn Arbing, Sandra Adams and Margie Carver; and leaves behind several nieces and nephews and their families. She is predeceased by infant daughter, Tracey Leigh Smith; sisters, Jean Smith, Shirley MacLeod and Frances Buchanan; brother, Preston Carver; brothers-in-law, Eric Adams, Jack Arbing, Jim Smith, Gerald MacLeod and Victor Buchanan; and sisters-in-law, Inez Jelley (Roy), Betty MacDougall (Lloyd), and Kay Johnson. Visitation will take place at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home in Montague, PE, on Friday, May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home chapel.
