Peacefully at the Garden Home on Friday, January 26, 2024, of Mrs. Clare I. (nee McCabe) Weatherbie of Rocky Point, age 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack Weatherbie, and dear mother of Tom Weatherbie (Colleen Dickie) and Marianne Weatherbie. She is also survived by five loving grandchildren, Mallory Dowling (Matt) and Candace Weatherbie (James Gallant), Hailey Murray (Bruce), Alison MacPhail (Ivan) and Matthew Ramsay (Haley Roberts); 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mariam McCabe, Gloria Weatherbie; brother-in-law Bill “Bully” (Eileen) Weatherbie and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Gertrude (MacAulay) McCabe, sisters Mary (Ignatius) Murphy, Marion (Reg) MacDonald, Kathleen (Maurice) Creed, Agatha (Bill) Whelan, Caroline (Courtney) MacDonald, Sister Laura McCabe CSM, Anita (Fred) Whelan; her brother Joe McCabe and daughter-in-law Heather (nee MacKinnon) Weatherbie. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Thursday morning then transferred to St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment later in St. Martin of Tours and St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Cumberland.
