Age 61, died peacefully surrounded by his three loving children on January 18, 2024 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Loving father of Chera-Lee Gomez (Valentine), Elysia Penny (Curtis) and Andrew. Cherished “Bubba” (grandfather) of Camilla Adelynne Gomez and Gemma Penny. Son of Frederick Ramsay Hickox of Calgary. Darrell will be missed by his special mother, Janet Pickard; his siblings Dale (Shirley), Debra Taylor (Bill) and Laura Doiron (Chris); and step-siblings Scott Peterson (Maggie), and Valerie Clements. Survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and health warriors. Predeceased by his mother, Thelma Cunningham (Abraham), and by his great aunt, Mary MacRae. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home from where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, January 25th, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, from 4-7 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Vernon River Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made online to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation (Hemodialysis).
