Age 79, of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on January 12, 2024. Judy shared 55 years of love and marriage with her soulmate, John A Cousins, until his passing in 2016. Together, they journeyed through the challenges and triumphs of life with a deep commitment to one another, their faith in God, and their love for their family and community. Even in her passing, Judy’s legacy lives on, etched in the hearts of those touched by her determination, resilience, playful spirit, and caring presence. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joanne (Dale) Waddell, Stephen (Cindy) Cousins, Linda (Gordon) Waddell, special friend John M; her 11 grandchildren, Matt (Jodi) Waddell, Joel (Louise) Waddell, Sarah (Kevin) Hilborn, Katie (Matthew) McNally, Kara (Ado) Kamari, Naomi (Eric) Murinzi, Hannah Cousins, Daniel (Jennifer) Cousins, Laura (Jamie) Waddell, Ellen (Ian) Murray, Mary (Todd) Waddell; and her eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Colin, Izzy, London, Norah, Elliot, Kai, and Elsie. Judy was raised in Malpeque by her grandparents, W. Preston and Kate (Champion) Beairsto, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her biological mother, Verna (Ross) Warden, and her biological father, Vince Walsh. She had several half-siblings and a very special sister, Linda (Ian) Merk and half-brother Ken (Sharon) Warden. She lost her half-brother, Richard, in 2022. Judy is survived by many relatives and friends, including her dearest lifelong friend, Sandra. Resting at Davison Funeral Home in Kensington, visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 16th from 4-7 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday, January 17th at 10 a.m. in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at the People’s Cemetery in Malpeque.
