Lorne Edward POWER — Montague

Lorne Edward POWER — Montague

Peacefully at home on December 24, 2023, of Lorne Edward Power of Montague, aged 77 years. Beloved husband of 56 years to Carol (nee MacLeod). Loving father to Dwayne (Will Richards) and special Grandpa to Ethan, Cedric, and Maggie. Brother to Rose Marie (Fred) Landrigan, Joyce (Glenn deceased) Hunter, Kevin (Judy) Power, Carol (Terry deceased) Frame, Maureen (Mike) O'Brien, and Brenda (Tony) MacIssac, brother-in-law to Lynda MacLeod, and uncle to numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Emmett and Mary Power; in-laws, Jimmie and Grace MacLeod; brother, David Power; sister, Stella Power; nephew, Blair Power and niece, Patricia Miller. Lorne was a life-long truck driver of over 60 years, starting with his roots on the Power Produce family farm in Greenfield and working right up until his death. He was a longstanding employee of M&M Trucking for over 40 years, making countless friends between colleagues, businesses he hauled to and from, and others in the industry. He loved nothing more than a good game of 45's, auction, or cribbage, but most of all he enjoyed the camaraderie that came with sitting down with friends to play. His dry sense of humor and deep belly laugh served him well over the years and he had a specialty for teasing anyone he could. He loved to chat, spending hours on the phone with dear friends, his family members, and many in the trucking community. There were few he crossed paths with that he didn't know or couldn't trace their roots back upon meeting. Above all, his pride and joy were his three grandchildren whom he enjoyed spending as much time as he could, teaching each of them to drive (and most a little earlier than they should have). Funeral Service to be held in the Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home Chapel with live stream on Wednesday, January 3, at 11 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date. Donations to the PEI Humane Society or the Montague Food Bank would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made through the Funeral Home website at: www.fergusonlogan.com
