June 22, 1942 - January 10, 2024 “I don’t ‘come from away’, I come from Prince Edward Island. I just live away.’’ Ron MacLean told everyone. Ron lived in Ontario for 59 of his 81 years of life. A part of PEI was always in his heart. Peacefully at home, on January 10, 2024, with Sandra by his side, Ron left this world to be with our Lord and Saviour. He was predeceased by his parents, Al MacLean and Clara MacLean, and his brother Wayne MacLean. Ron was a devoted and loving husband to Sandra (Johnston) for nearly 52 years. He was the beloved and proud father of Jason, and very special and much loved Papa of Elijah MacLean and Michaella MacLean. Most of Ron’s working career was in public transit, both with St. Catharine's Transit and also Toronto Transit. He retired from TTC in 2005 and Ron and Sandra re-located to Niagara Falls. Life was good although Ron was diagnosed with cancer in 2014. He fought his illness with faith, determination, and his usual sense of humour. A huge thank you to Dr. Oelofse, Dr. Levesque and the Walker Family Cancer Centre. With gratitude to many friends who became like family to us and helped us through this journey. Thank you Pastor Martin Goode for your support. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held at Grace Gospel Church, 5855 Valley Way, Niagara Falls. Service will be Saturday, January 20th. Visitation at 10 A.M., service at 11 A.M. Memorial donations if desired, may be made to Grace Gospel Church or “It’s our Future” re: South Niagara Hospital.
