The death occurred peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, of Dorothy “Dot” Nickerson, of Summerside, age 85. Born in Summerside, she was the daughter of the late William “Lou” and Catherine (Martell) Gallant. Survived by her children, Gary (Sharon) Nickerson, Gail Nickerson (John Cammidge), Kathy (Robert) Irving; grandchildren, Melissa (Brody) Cahill, Amy Nickerson, Jessie Nickerson, and Emily Irving (Jenna Gallant); great-grandchildren, Liam, Lilah, Lucas, Avery, Chase, and Grace; sister, Shirley Gallant; sisters-in-law, Isabel Gallant, and Jean Gallant. Predeceased by her husband, Merlin “Nick” Nickerson; brothers, Clarence “Kye” (Zelda) Gallant, Vernon “Vernie” Gallant, David Gallant; and by her sisters, Irene (Ken) Fear, and Florence (Danny) Warren. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28th, at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside.
