The death occurred peacefully with family at her side at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, of Emilie “Millie” Anne Doucette (nee Peters), beloved wife of the late Aubrey “Spic” Doucette, formerly of Rustico, aged 88. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Alvina Peters (LeClair). Millie was the loving mother of Terry (Judy), Brian (Phyllis), Robbie (Heather), Holly MacKinnon (Howard) and Paula Gallant (Dale); and grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 25. She is also survived by sister, Geraldine Doucette (Eric, deceased); sisters-in-law, Yvonne, May and Maggie. Besides her husband, Spic, and parents, Claude and Alvina, Millie was predeceased by her son, Shane, daughter-in-law, Arliss; brothers, Regis, Norbert and Freddie Peters; and special aunt, Zita Besaw. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538, Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, February 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Monday, February 12th at 10:30 a.m. Interment at a later date in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
