George James "Jim" SARK — Rocky Point

1940 - 2024. The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday February 21st of George James (Jim) Sark of Rocky Point, age 84, former Chief of Lennox Island First Nation 1965-1972 and Abegweit First Nation 1977-1999. Born at Lennox Island on February 17, 1940, he was the son of former Lennox Island Chief the late Jacob Sark and Alma Mitchell (Cormier) Sark. Survived by his wife, Carolyn; dear father of James G. (Tracey) Sark, Danny (Paula) Sark, Roger (Deanna) Sark, Benny (Kendra) Sark, Jenene (Cale) Wooldridge, and Jared (Martha) Sark. Also survived by former wife Mary Anne Sark. Loving Grampy to 16 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his brother Hubert Sark and his sister-in-law Margaret Sark. Jim was predeceased by his parents, daughter Mary Catherine (Kate), Grandsons Derek Pictou and Gregory Bernard and the following brothers and sisters: Ester Sark, Madeline Knockwood (Frank), Mary Catherine Sark, Leo Augustine (Teressa), Dorothy Bernard (David), Cyrus Sark (Sarah), Marina Bernard (Stephen), Lloyd Sark (Lillian), Mary Bernard (Mosey), Peggy Rydzewski (Tom), John Jacob, Michael Sark and John Joe Sark. Resting at Hennessy Cutcliffe Funeral Home, Charlottetown, with visiting hours on Friday from 3 to 7 pm. Funeral Mass and Celebration of Jim’s life on Saturday, February 24th at 2 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Cornwall.
