MacDonald, Mary Elizabeth: The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, of Mary MacDonald (Gallant), wife of the late Richard MacDonald, of Whisperwood Villa and formerly of Rennies Road, aged 74. She was the daughter of the late James and Grace Gallant. Mary was the loving mother of Richard (Angela) and Elizabeth (Brian Cowan); devoted grandmother of Makayla Theresa, Sam and Makalya Dawn. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Patrick Gallant (Lyn), Madeline MacNeil (Claude), Kathy Reid (Danny), John Gallant (Audrey), Patricia Gallant (Mike) and Andy Gallant; sisters-in-law, Helen, Sheree and Lori; brother-in-law, Danny; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Wilfred, Jimmy, Earl, Bonnie and Linda Hajar; and infant sister, Linda. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Per Mary’s request, a family visitation will be held on Thursday, February, 22, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Public Funeral Service will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hunter River.
