The death occurred peacefully in Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, of Mary “Olive” Moore (Poirier) of Summerside, PEI, aged 89 years. Olive was born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, NS. to the late William and Olive (Burns) Poirier. Loving mother of Gery Moore, Karen (Randy) Waugh, Denise Moore, Alison Moore (Joe Mundy). Also lovingly remembered by her 3 grandchildren, Olivia (Corey) Stairs, Caitlin Waugh (Cody Doak), Matthew Johnson; great-grandchildren, Sophie Stairs and Rylee Doak; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, Kenneth Moore; former husband, Alfred Moore; sisters, Eva (Eddie) MacMullin, Mary Lou Dupe, Emily (Art) Dewan and Frances (Joe) Paulus. Resting at the East Prince Funeral 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday February 22nd, then to St. Paul’s Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Memorial donations in Olive’s memory can be made directly to St. Vincent de Paul. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m.
