It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rowena Anne McCann, loving wife of Samuel McCann and loving mother of Jessica and Sean McCann, announces her passing which occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Born in Charlottetown, PE, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Johanna (Pelgrum) Enserink. In addition to her husband of 32 years, Sam, and her daughter Jess McCann (George MacDonald) and son Sean McCann, she is survived by her sisters Alice Richard (Edward) and Janet Reid (Dannie), brother Bill Enserink (Krista); several beloved nieces and nephews, and her canine companion Charlie. Rowena held various positions throughout her career in early childhood education, as well as many years passionately supporting and advocating for adults with disabilities. She was a devoted member of the Christian Reformed Church, an active volunteer with Bibles for Missions and the Island Pregnancy Centre. Her strong faith in Jesus, her Lord and Saviour, gave her strength and courage through challenges and hard times. Rowena was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21st from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held from the Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, February 22nd at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Sherwood Cemetery in the spring.
