It is with much sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Captain David W. Harris announce his passing which occurred peacefully and surrounded by love at the Souris Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Born to the late Harry and Mary (Mallard) Harris on March 24, 1956, he was age 67, of East Point. David was a dear and faithful husband of 49 years to his beloved wife Cathy (Robertson) and will be remembered as a most loving and supportive father to Terry (Cindy), Jeremy (Kristen) and Holly (Steven). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Mallory, Abby, Ella, Sophie, Drew, Emma, Taylor, Wesley, and Charley. David is lovingly remembered by his siblings Richard, Susan Campbell (Foster), Linda Harris Ford, Michelle Harris (Daryl), Marsha Kays (Mark) and Gregg (Kim). In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Phyllis Robertson, brothers-in-law, Eric (Brenda), Vaughan and Randy (Deann) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father-in-law Gordon Robertson, and sister-in-law Claire Robertson. His love for his wife and family was unconditional and he was so proud of his children and grandchildren. His second love was fishing. David fished his whole life and took pride in sharing his knowledge, experience and passion to his family and friends. He was also grateful for his A.A. family who gave him hope, which in turn he instilled to others. “One day at a time”. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Friday, February 23rd, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Columba Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 24th, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
