A life well-lived has come to the end of his earthy journey, with trust of his reward in the afterlife with his Heavenly Father. The family of Charles William Carr of Sherwood, sadly announce his passing on March 11, 2024, in Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown, at the age of 87 years. Charles, a man of his word, leaves to mourn his loving wife of more than 57 years, Anna (MacMillan); as well as his three devoted children, Andrea (Ken Spenceley), Graeme (Bev Gerg) and Philip (Hara Kempton). Charlie was the proud and cherished Grampy to Karina McNeill, Nadia and Rylie Carr; and step-grandfather of Aidan Higginbotham. Also survived by his only sister, Jean Bulman (Exton, deceased); sisters-in-law, Jean Carr and Audrey (Lowell) Farquharson; numerous nieces, nephews and Sarah and Hannah Spenceley. With Charlie’s extensive involvement in both the Masonic Order and The Order of the Eastern Star, his passing will be felt far and wide within these fraternal organizations. Charlie is also survived by Scott McNeill (daughter Brianna) and Anna’s sisters, Phyllis Taylor, Margaret Burhoe and Mona (Kirk Meldrum). Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Mae (Crabbe) Carr; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Emma (MacNevin) MacMillan; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Mildred), John (Phyllis), Allison (Lois) Bennett; four siblings in childhood; and his twin granddaughters, Emma and Olivia McNeill. Remains resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Friday, March 15th, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. St. John’s Lodge No.1 and Prince of Wales Lodge No. 18 will hold a Masonic Memorial Service immediately following the evening visitation in the Funeral Home Chapel and all Brethren are invited to attend. Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Milton at 2 p.m. on Saturday March 16th, with a reception to follow at the Belvedere Funeral Home Reception Center. Interment will occur at a later date at St. Marks Anglican Cemetery, South Rustico. Family flowers only please.
