She was a Foster Parent to over 60 young children. She served in various capacities with the Prince Edward Island Federation of Foster Families and, with her involvement, brought many improvements to the Foster Care system on P.E.I. An ardent gardener, she served as an advisor and mentor to many friends and relatives. Donna struggled through a six-and-a-half-year battle with GIST cancer, never wavering in her hope that she would see another season and get back outdoors. She made a difference.
