Emma Bernadette ‘‘Bernie’’ MacINTYRE — Charlottetown

The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, March 1, 2024, of Bernadette ‘‘Bernie’’ MacIntyre of Charlottetown, age 88 years. Born on November 3, 1935, in the village of Webster’s Corner, PEI to the late Stella Roberts (nee Dunn) and Aneas McDonald. After spending some time in her late teens and early 20's in the Southern US as a nanny, she returned to PEI, where she married Alfred MacIntyre (deceased) and started the journey of raising five children of her own. Loving mother of Allan MacIntyre (Roxanne), Donna Jay (Sterling), Margie Llewellyn (Derek), Christine MacIntyre (Greg), and predeceased by her eldest son, Gerard MacIntyre (Dianne). Special nanny to her eight grandchildren, Mandy Pigott (Jamie), Bruce Jay (Haley), Nicolle Jay, Mike MacIntyre, Cody MacIntyre, Matt Llewellyn (Carrie), Ryan Llewellyn, and Jenn MacIntyre (Gordon). And to her five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Cameron, Sawyer, Brooks and Hartley. Predeceased by her brothers, Gerard, Gerry, Leonard, Larry, Leo, her sister Kay, and her close friend and sister-in-law, Bev. Also left to mourn is her brother, Lloyd Roberts (Edith); and special sister-in-law, Judy McDonald; along with nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 6th in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment later in St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery, Corran Ban. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI.
