At the Garden Home on Wednesday March 20, 2024, of Gerrit Pater, age 90, of York Point formerly of the Netherlands. Beloved husband of Wilma (nee MacPhail), Loving father of Alan Pater (Lorie Perry), Cathy Laybolt (Joey), and Philip Pater (Tanya). Dear Opa of Erika and Veronica Pater and Jeremy Laybolt. Survived by siblings, Audrey Uyterlinde, Evelyn Vessey, John Pater; and by sisters-in-law, Marlene Pater and Kathy MacPhail; and by brothers-in-law Howard MacPhail and Raymond Large and many special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Cornelis and Gerrritje Pater (nee van de Hoef) and by siblings Gerritje VanKampen, Cornelia Aten, Dirk Pater, Dinnie Larter, Cornelius Jr. and by brothers-in-law; Gyjs VanKampen, Cornelius Aten, Adrian Uyterlinde, Ben Larter, Claude Vessey, Willard MacPhail; and by sisters-in-law Jean Pater, Elaine Large and Jean MacPhail. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Garden Home for their care of Gerrit this past year. Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home with visiting hours from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday April 2nd. Funeral service will take place at the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 3rd at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
