Peacefully at the QEH Intensive Care Unit on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, after a brief illness, of William Thomas Wood “Tom” of Cornwall, age 80. Beloved husband of Marguerite Wood (Marchbank), loving father of Cindy Wood (Chris Brooks) and Sally Sentner (Harley), loving grandfather of Ty (Lindsay), Max, and Luke Sentner. Tom is also survived by in-laws, Marion Hole (Fred), Melvin “Junior” Marchbank (Linda), Vernie Marchbank (Gaile), Gary, Carol Warkentin (John-deceased), Debbie Loosdrecht (John) and Hubert Marchbank (Joyce), Susan Abou Risk (George), and Chris Marchbank (Margaret). Tom is survived by many nieces and nephews on the Wood and Marchbank families. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Elizabeth (MacNeill) Wood; twin sisters and their spouses, Ann Davis (Bob), Margaret Ashley (Rex); brother-in-law, John Warkentin; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Bowes and her husband Ian; in-laws, Melvin and Barbara Marchbank. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visitation on Friday, March 15, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall, on Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to “Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids” St. Francis of Assisi Church in Cornwall would be appreciated.
