Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Garden Home, age 85. Survived by his wife Beverley (MacPherson), daughters Suzanna Harris (Tim) and Pamela Burke (Bill), grandchildren Kieran, Rowan (Marina) and Liam Scott, sister Shirley Doyle (Rae - deceased), brothers-in-law David MacPherson (Roberta) and Barry MacPherson (Audrey), sister-in-law Bernadette Milligan, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Anthony Burke and Julia "Lillie" Gallant, his siblings Mary Ryan (Jeremiah), Clarence (Eileen), Lorne (Beryl), Frank, and John Wendell "Cy" Burke, niece Alicia and nephew Chris. Art was retired from the Department of Highways, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had a stellar curling career spanning 35 years with two provincial School Boy titles, five PEI Tankard Championship titles, and one PEI Senior Legion Championship title. He was inducted into the PEI Curling Hall of Fame in 2009. Special thanks to Dr. Jason Thompson, and the staff of the Garden Home. Memorial donations may be made to Kid Sport PEI.
