The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, of Joan Blacquiere (nee Doiron), beloved wife of Herbert Doiron, of North Rustico, aged 85. Joan was the mother of Darrell (Maureen) and Wade; grandmother of Meagan (Marc), Kaitlin (Jason), Elissa, Shanna, Emma and Dawson (Mercedes); and great-grandmother of Brooks. She is also survived by her brothers, Kenny “Frenchie” Doiron, Alan “Sam” Doiron, Lloyd Doiron and Edward Doiron (Nassie); sister, Joyce Aimers (Brian); and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Lillian (Ford) Doiron; son, David; brothers, Bill, Roland, Clayton and Melvin; sisters, Marie, Noreen, Lynn, Audrey, Dorothy and Diane; infant sister; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. There will be no visitation or funeral by personal request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
