Patricia Mary "Patsy" JAMIESON (Harty) — Lakeside

The death occurred peacefully at home in Lakeside, PE surrounded by family on Thursday, April 25, 2024, of Patricia Mary "Patsy" Jamieson (Harty) in her 81st year. Beloved wife of 52 years of Eldon Jamieson and loving mother of Julie Jamieson (Michael Porter). Patsy was born in Gambo, NL on October 22, 1943, to parents Mary (White) Harty and Thomas Harty. Sister of: Jacqueline Saunders (William deceased), Josephine Shea (deceased), (Lester Shea Jr. deceased), Michael Harty (Georgina), and Mary Fowler (Ralph). Sister-in-law of: Howard Jamieson Jr. (deceased) (Audrey), Janie MacDonald, Dorothy Jamieson, Ralph Jamieson, and Gerard Jamieson. Predeceased by her in-laws Gladys and Howard Jamieson Sr. She graduated from Saint Clare’s Mercy nursing school, Saint John’s, NL in 1965 and spent 40 years working as a registered nurse in Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. Her career began in small outport hospitals in Newfoundland. After moving to Prince Edward Island, she went on to work at Kings County Memorial Hospital, Charlottetown Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kidney Dialysis, and Home Care and Support. The greatest joys in her nursing career were the colleagues she met that went on to be her lifelong friends and the patients she took care of in her calm, caring, and professional manner. Patsy was known for her infectious laugh, positive attitude, deep faith, love of a good time, and storytelling abilities. She took great pride in hosting her friends and family at her cottage in Lakeside where she spent the majority of her summers on the Island. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 30th from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church in Mount Stewart. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
