The funeral for Tom Wood, beloved husband of Marguerite Wood, of Cornwall, was held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall. The Celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Peter Wojakiewicz, who also proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The first reading, from Ecclesiastes, was addressed by Colleen Bowes. The second reading, from I John, was addressed by Christine Bell. The prayers of the faithful were led by Father Peter. The cross bearer was Zita Cameron and the candle bearers were Mary Hagen and Myrna MacEwen. Mary Hagen, Myrna MacEwen and Anne McKinley assisted Father Peter as Eucharistic ministers. The offertory gifts were presented by Susan Abou Risk, Carol Warkentin and Marion Hole. Words of remembrance were shared by daughter, Cindy Wood and grandson, Max Sentner. The music was provided by pianist, Bernie Field and soloist, Ellen Denis. The hymns were: entrance, “Be Not Afraid”; psalm, “The Lord Is My Shepherd” with Ellen Dennis as cantor; offertory, “Here I Am, Lord”; communion, “Easter Hallelujah”; commendation, “Go Forth”; and recessional, “How Great Thou Art”. The honorary pallbearers were everyone present who loved Tom. The bearers of honour were Cindy Wood and Sally Sentner. Flower bearers were Angela Marchbank, Doug Marchbank, Tim Warkentin, Joey Abou Risk, Max Sentner, Ty Sentner and Luke Sentner. We extend our deepest thanks to you for your kindness during our greatest sadness. We appreciate it more than words can express and it will always be remembered.
