Gillis, Kenneth "Ken" of Charlottetown passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 7, 2024. Born on July 28, 1944, in Sydney, he was the son of the late A. Wilfred and Kathleen (MacAulay) Gillis. Ken is remembered fondly by his wife, Grace; loving daughters, Kathleen, Karen (Phil), Colleen (Peter), Krista (Paul), and Melanie (Mark). He was proud of his grandchildren Christopher, Chantal, Alexander, Matthew, Courtney, Ariana, Olivia, Caleb, and Sarah and his great-grandchildren Aubree, Alaia, Maverick and Thomas. Ken was predeceased by his brothers Donald, Lorne and Gordon. He is survived by his brothers David and Wilfred (Bev) and sisters-in-law Wanda and Cherie. Ken had a long and accomplished career with the Royal Bank of Canada and served his community as a Charlottetown city councillor, Rotarian, Mason and dedicated volunteer in many service organizations, including the College of Piping. His life was enriched by his many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the QEH Foundation or a charity of your choice. Blood donations to Canadian Blood Services also appreciated. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 3-6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Charlottetown on Wednesday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
