Roberts, Robert Brenton Age 89 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 24, 2024 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Cherished husband of the late Mary Roberts (nee Hughes). Born in Charlottetown, PE, he was a son of the late James and Winnifred (Atkins) Roberts. Robert was a quiet man with a strong moral compass, who could always be counted on to do the right thing. He was dedicated to his family and had a long career as a respected carpenter. A loyal Montreal Canadiens fan since childhood, he looked forward to the NHL Hockey Draft every June, in the hope that this would be the year the new talent would help them win the cup. When moving to Nova Scotia, he kept up with Prince Edward Island news by reading The Guardian every morning (with his cup of tea) and watching Compass news on his Ipad in the evening. A natural news lover, CNN became his favorite show on tv. He got great joy in these simple things. He is survived by daughters, Kim Gutscher and Pam Roberts; grandchildren, Brent Gutscher, Katherine Gutscher, Jennifer (Magnus) Leone, Stephanie Leone; brother, Carl "Buddy" (Marjorie); sister-in-laws, Evelyn (Clark Bulloch) Battah, Juanita Roberts, Alice "Mickey" Roberts; and multiple nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clarence, George, Francis "Frankie," Fred; sisters, Arlene McIntosh, Beverley Culligan; his special aunt, Margaret "Mag" Atkins.
