Howard Dekker, Vera Alice At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday June 14,2024 of Vera A. Howard Dekker of Summerside aged 91 years, Born in Indian River March 5, 1933 daughter of the late William and Lillian (Simmons) Rogers. Vera and her husband of 43 years, Ralph Howard, (deceased) raised their three children in their Margate home, Faye Gillis (Linus- deceased), Linda Cole (Roger - deceased) Cole and David (Sandy) Howard. Step-mother of Rodney (Sharon) Dekker and Susan Dekker-Inkpen (Paul Inkpen). Grandmother of Chris Howatt, Angie Howatt, Stacey Clark, Melanie Noonan, Courtney Sims and Shelby Howard-McNeill, step-grandmother of Dawn MacDougall-MacPhee and Tammy Smith and great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren. Sister of Alfred (Harriet), Ralph (Alma), Eileen (Wayne), Jimmy (Marion), Wayne (Carolyn)and Rita (Al). Sister-in-in-law of Betty (Kenneth) Mann. Also survived by numerous and nieces and nephews. Vera was blessed to have met and marry John Dekker (deceased) a true friend and wonderful companion. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Aaron Howatt, a sorrow she carried to the end. Also by brothers and and sisters (Dorothy (Tilman) Landry, Marion (Elwood) Crozier, and Allison (Lillian) Rogers. A public service of committal will be held at the Margate United Cemetery on Tuesday, June 18th, at 11 a.m. and will be available to view online after 1 p.m. the day of the service.
