MacLean, Charles Willard It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Willard MacLean, age 89. Of Sherwood and formerly of Peter's Road, Kings County, PE. Charlie passed away in his sleep, on July 13, 2024, at the Atlantic Baptist Home. Beloved husband of Laura Phyllis (Clay) MacLean, formerly of Bridgetown, PE, and loving father of Mark MacLean (Lily), Charlottetown and Keith MacLean (Sheila MacDonald) Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Sharon MacLean (Joe), Katherine MacLean, Adam MacLean (Traci), Michael MacLean (Molly) and Donald MacLean (Katelyn); great-grandchildren, Kiara, Eliyah, Atlas and Ada. He was predeceased by his parents, Willard and Blanche (Crawford) MacLean, Peter's Rd, PE; grandparents, William Leith (The Master) MacLean and Henrietta Jane (Bears), Amram and Evangeline (Bulpitt) Crawford; sister, Hazel MacLeod (Lloyd MacKinnon and Sterling MacLeod); brother, Leith (Dorothy Beck) MacLean; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd MacKinnon, Brooklyn, Sterling MacLeod, Charlottetown, Garth and Georgie (Dover) Clay, Bridgetown and Deborah Anne Hefler. He is also survived by his sister, Etta (Paul) Connolly, Charlottetown; brothers, Milton (Arlene Gardiner) Burlington, ON, Ralph (Coleen Smith) Dartmouth, and Kenneth (Brenda Hastings) Sturgeon, PE. Charlie joined CN when he was 19 years old. He worked in Ontario and the Maritimes for 37 years, in various positions. He spent the last 11 years working in the Moncton Carload Center, as Supervisor for the Atlantic region. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge. After retiring, Charlie purchased a Motor Home and he and Phyllis spent 10 years travelling in the US for three months each year. Charlie and Phyllis belonged to two Square Dancing groups in Charlottetown. Charlie will always be remembered by many family members and friends. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 20 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow at Belvedere Funeral Home Reception Centre.
