Mary "Rita" ARSENAULT — Summerside

Arsenault, Mary "Rita" January 3, 1932 - July 1, 2024. It is with sadness in their hearts that the family of Mary Rita Arsenault, age 92, announces her peaceful passing at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on July 1, 2024. Born on January 3, 1932, Rita was the beloved wife of the late Amand Arsenault and the cherished daughter of Sylvère Caissie and Margaret Wedge of Summerside. Rita was the heart of the family and will be remembered by her sons and daughters, Bernice Haché, Noella Gallant, Francis (Barb) Arsenault, Sylvia White, Robert (Judy) Arsenault, Rena (David) Dawson, Mona Arsenault, Ann (Alfred) Arsenault and Geralda Stewart. She is also survived by two sisters, Melva Cormier and Vina (Henry) O'Shea; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella, Olive, Marguerite (Amand), Oliver (Alphonsine), Célina (Edward), Edgar (Eva), Freda (Pat), Mae and Vicky (Maynard); by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Amand; her daughter, Eva; her father and mother-in-law, Elizé and Théodosie; by great-granddaughter, Kelsey; her sisters, Rosie (Phil), Theresa (Bryce); brothers, Josie, Francis (Lorraine), Ernest; and by brothers and sisters-in-law, Irénée (Lorraine), Donat (Vitaline), Arsène (Julie-Anne), Phil (Ella), Laurie (Mélina), Alfred (Alice), Regis, Tilmon and Gerard (Kay). Rita was known to enjoy life to the fullest, whether it be playing crib with her loved ones or cooking a hearty meal for her family. She also loved going dancing at the Club 50 and having a glass of wine. She was a great reader and also loved knitting. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville, for visiting hours on Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 6-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. followed by the interment in the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's memory made to; the Life House or to the Lennon House or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
