Noel John PALMER — Charlottetown

Palmer, Noel John It is with sadness that we announce the death of Noel John Palmer on July 16, 2024 at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Noel was born on December 10, 1938, in Summerside, PE. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (MacNeill) and their two children, Carolyn (Lenley Adams) of Charlottetown and John of Dundas, ON; grandchildren, Meghan Adams and Olivia Adams; his brother, Malcolm Palmer (Eleanor). He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dorothy (McKenna) Palmer, Summerside. Noel loved his family in PEI and cousins in California and Massachusetts. He enjoyed his work for Transport Canada on The DEW Line, The Canadian Coast Guard for 35 years in Charlottetown, as well as his work at the Sherwood Fire Department as the District #2 Fire Chief. He especially enjoyed his garden and woods at his Ferndale home and spent many hours tending to them. Noel spent an enormous amount time in his woodshop repairing and working on new projects. His red 1952 MGTD that he acquired in 1957 was his pride and joy and he drove it all over the Island to car shows and the back roads for fun. In more recent years, he spent countless hours with his "grand-dog", Bailey, who kept him feeling youthful. Noel and his family would like to express immense gratitude to the staff at Palliative Care for their care and support and making his final days as comfortable as possible. The family also wishes to thank the staff on Unit Two at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. McCrea and the other physicians who cared for him, and the many friends who supported Noel during his illness.
