Ronald Harvey TOOMBS — Charlottetown

Toombs, Ronald Harvey The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, of Ronald Toombs, husband of the late Heather Toombs (nee Mills), of Whisperwood Villa and formerly of North Rustico, aged 79. He was the son of the late William and Vivian (Howatt) Toombs. Ronald was the loving father of Darren (friend Lisa), Kimberley (Rev. Brian) Gilroy, Kendall (Carrie) and Natalie (Adam) Baldin; grandfather of Rebecca, Jordan, Matthew James and their mother Kimberly; Jeshuah and Judeah; Galen and Linden; and Heather Mya. He is survived by brother, Gordon; brother-in-law, Elmer Redmond; sisters-in-law, Patsy Mills and Maureen Mills; special friend, Sheila; nieces and nephews, Lori MacKay, Brian and Barry Toombs; and dear neighbours and friends. Besides his wife, Heather and his parents, Ronald was predeceased by sister, Diane Redmond; parents-in-law, Ethel (Hill) and A. Roy Mills; sister-in-law, Wilna (Burgoyne) Toombs; and brother-in-law, Gordon Mills. Ronald was a proud member of the New Glasgow Fire Department and long life member of Cavendish United Church. The family would like to thank the Staff of Whisperwood Villa; Dr. Tiwana and Dr. Pan and Staff of the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre for all their treatment and care; Dr. Lecours and the team at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre for their dedication and compassion for end of life care. Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Central Queen's Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow, on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. Interment in Cavendish Community Cemetery.
