Andrews, Allan Ashford Died unexpectedly in Canoe Cove on August 19, 2024 in Prince Edward Island at the age of 83. Allan is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Buffy (Terry), Joshua (Lindsay), Ginger and Whitney; siblings, Arthur Andrews (Cherie), Thelma Campbell, Mildred Maclean and Bill Andrews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and Sterling Andrews, of Freetown, PEI and his siblings Hillard Andrews, Malcolm Andrews, and Jean Bell. Papa was dearly loved by his eight grandchildren Noa, Django, Fergus, Sullivan, Aspen, Axyl, Indie, and Ash. Allan was born on October 21, 1940 in Freetown, PEI to Hilda and Sterling Andrews. He graduated from UNB in 1969 with a degree in PhysEd and also gained a degree in Education from UPEI. He married Lois, the love of his life, in 1977. Allan worked for the Department of Education and the provincial government developing young leaders through Allied Youth. On Monday night, after many health struggles, Allan went to be with his Lord. He had a wonderful life with his wife Lois of 47 years and knew deeply the promises of Jeremiah 29:11. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you. Plans to give you a hope and a future. Allan's faith in Christ was evident to all who came in contact with him. His family rests in the truth that they will one day see him again, celebrating new life with his Saviour. He is fondly remembered for his involvement with the New Christian Singers, and for having a positive impact on the lives of many through his passion for raising young athletes and leaders through Andrews Hockey Growth Programs. His influence on the lives of both young and old is immeasurable. He was inducted into the PEI's Business Hall of Fame, was a member of the PEI Sports Hall of Fame, and a recipient of the Order of Canada. Though he did not enjoy the recognition, he always gave all credit to his Lord Jesus and Saviour for all of his life successes.
