Gallant, Bernadette Margaret Peacefully at the Palliative Care Center with her daughters by her side, Bernadette joined her beloved husband, Eric and cherished son, Roland in heaven. Born in Bedford, PE, in 1946, Bernadette was one of eight children. Married in 1970 to her love, Eric. They enjoyed many beautiful years of dancing and making memories with their children, Roland Gallant (Susan), Lisa Gallant (Jon Dimick) and Erin Welcher (Patrick) and grandchildren, Tyler (Meagan), Jacob, Jaron, Justin, Lucy and Lola. Bernadette is also survived by her brothers, Gerard (Olive) John and Vince Arbing; sisters, Carol Judson (Harold) and Electa Hughes (Gene). Sisters-in-law, Arles Ferguson, Marion Ross (Jim) and Lynn Hughes (Jon); brother-in-law, Ivan Gallant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Mary Arbing; special aunt, Georgina Arbing; brothers, Michael and Lawrence Arbing; husband, Eric Gallant; son, Roland Gallant; parents-in-law, Emile and Lucy Cecilia Gallant; brothers-in-law, Carl Gallant, Norman Ferguson and sister-in-law, Roslyn Gallant. At the age of 18, Bernadette began working at Hillborough Hospital. A career that she would dedicate 39 years of hard work, to which she loved dearly and where she made many lifelong friends. It was there that Bernadette fostered her love for cooking and what a spectacular cook she was. Her specialty was her homemade cherry tarts, which were the grandkids favourite. An avid walker, bowler, and swimmer, Bernadette loved to be active and adored watching her grandchildren's activities. She was always up for a good competition. Bernadette lived a life of integrity, compassion and joy. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and wisdom, leaving behind a profound impact on all of her family and friends. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Bernadette always placed the needs of others before her own. Her unconditional love and unwavering support brought comfort to those around her. She will be eternally missed. Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Augustine's Parish, Rustico, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine's Cemetery.
