Thompson, Daniel G. "Danny" After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Daniel G. (Danny) Thompson passed away at the Community Hospital O'Leary surrounded by his loving family, August 1, 2024, of Summerside aged 66 years. Born in Summerside, March 21, 1958, son of the late G. Wallace and Ruth (Dalzell) Thompson. Loving husband of JoAnn Thompson (DesRoches-Duncan). Cherished father of Tanya Thompson (Trevor LeClair) and Amanda Thompson. Proud grandfather of Kaylee, Konnor, Gabby LeClair, Wyatt Murray and Poppy Thompson. Survived by brothers Don (Rhonda), Dean (Charlotte), and Peter (Leila) Thompson, Rick Dalzell (Helen), sister-in-law Beverley Thompson, brothers-in-law Jack DesRoches (Ann), Robert DesRoches (Joanne), David DesRoches, Joseph DesRoches and Stephen DesRoches and mother-in-law Doris DesRoches. Also survived by stepson Mark Duncan (Ateesha), stepdaughter Carol Liom and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his brother W. Barry Thompson and sister Judy Ann Thompson and father-in-law Elmer DesRoches, brother-in-law Carl DesRoches and sister-in-law Marie Dion. Danny will be remembered for his quiet kindness and his willingness to help others. He was an electrician by trade, working with Gorman Controls, T&C Electrical and Marine Atlantic where he made many lifelong friends. He served as a fireman with the Kensington Fire Department for several years and was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. No public visitation will be held by personal request. Funeral service Wednesday August 7, 2024, in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., Interment in People's Cemetery Kensington.
