Connick, Delmar James Passing peacefully at home on Tuesday August 27, 2024 Delmar J. Connick of Spring Valley aged 76 years. Son of the late Ralph and Lillian (Caseley) Connick. Husband of the last 56 years, Barbara (Hickey) Connick. Father of Tammy (Glen) Gillis, Tanya Connick (David Montgomery) and Jolene Connick. Grandfather of Taylor (Dylan) Tessier, Tanner Gillis, B'rea and Callum Connick. Great-grandfather of Oliver. Brother of Carl (Marie) Connick. Brother-in-law of Darlene Walsh, Norma Dougherty, Phyllis (Doug), Kendall Hickey, Rodney (Cathy) Hickey, Paula Pollon and Scott (Allison) Hickey. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Emma Gillis; infant sister, Juanita, parents-in-law, Charles and Marion Hickey; sisters-in-law, Edith Smith, Rhea Hickey; brothers-in-law, Bud Dougherty, Donnie Walsh, Sonny Smith and Keith Pollon. Born in Spring Valley January 3, 1948. Delmar went on to be a fisherman and Harbour Master of Malpeque, and retired as the caretaker of Rainbow Daycare. He was loved by many. Delmar will be remembered for his kind heart, his quick wit, and his mischievous grin. For the past 3 years Delmar fought a stoic battle of both heart disease and acute myeloid leukemia. Delmar died on his own terms, in his own home with his family by his side. Special thanks goes out to all the health care staff of the oncology unit and acute care, where he spent many of his last days, and to Kensington Volunteer firefighters, and Island EMS. As a last call from his CB radio, from the ocean off Malpeque harbor, "Spring Valley Ace over and out." Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. No visitation by personal request. Funeral will be held at Holy Family Church in Kensington Wednesday September 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. and reception will take place at his family Home 841 Spring Valley, Route 102.
