Peters, Edgar Francis MacKinnon "Frank" 1938-2024 Peacefully with his family at his side on Monday August 12, 2024, Frank Peters of Oyster Bed Bridge, age 85 years. Beloved husband and friend of over 63 years to Mercedes (nee Vessey). Loving father to Steve, Jacinta (Mike Gauthier), Karen (Trent Roach), Tim (Jane Evans), and Marcia (Calvin MacPhail). Loving brother to Sister Jacinta, Perley, Rose Ann (Wayne), Sandra, David (Carol), Kathleen, Joan (Alfred), Dorothy, Theresa (Blaine), Gerarda (Edward) and Mary (Alan). Predeceased by Mercedes; his son, Steve; his parents, Edgar and Marion (nee MacKinnon) Peters; stepmother, Mary Knox Peters; brothers, Hugh and Winston; sisters-in-law, Ida and Florence. Frank is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Mary (Dan) and Cammy; brothers-in-law, Sid (Florence) and Reg (Ida). Grampie/Kruger was adored and loved by his grandchildren, Emily, Katelyn, Laura ,Tyler, Jack, Grace, Sarah, Abby, Ryan, Kate, Hugh, Lola, Eric, Maggie, Estelle; and by his great-grandchildren, Madisynne, Jackson, Hunter, Carson, Michael, Teagan, Elizabeth, Darcy; and will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends (including his crew at Robin's in North Rustico and McDonalds in Charlottetown). Proud of being an Acadian, Frank successfully researched the "Pitre" ancestors back to the mid-1600s. Frank was an educator for 35 years in Alberta, Ontario and Prince Edward Island. In the early 1990s Frank was instrumental in the creation of Gulf Shore Consolidated School. Frank volunteered as a hockey coach at the North Star Arena, and also offered after-school hockey camps. In 2012 he was a proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee medal. In retirement Frank enjoyed travelling and gardening. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home for visiting hours on Friday evening August 16th from 5-8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday morning August 17th, from St. Augustine's Church, South Rustico at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine's Parish Cemetery.
